Severe Thunderstorm Warning in North Broward Cancelled

Highs will land in upper 80s Friday in South Florida

A severe thunderstorm warning issued for northern Broward County Friday was cancelled.

Winds with gusts of up to 60 mph were reported, as were quarter-sized hail and heavy downpours.

Severe thunderstorms remain possible Friday afternoon.

It will be partly sunny Friday with highs in the upper 80s early afternoon before the arrival of a cold front.

Gradual clearing will take place late afternoon and evening.  Friday evening temps will be in the upper 70s after dark. Although a few clouds may linger, dry conditions will prevail.

As high pressure pushes into South Florida behind Friday’s front, winds will increase. In fact, it will become breezy Friday evening.  The rip current risk will become elevated.

Expect mostly sunny skies Saturday and Sunday.  Wake up temperatures will be in the lower 60s and 70s and highs will be more seasonable in the lower 80s.  Winds will occasionally reach 20 mph, thus Small Craft Advisories are likely for local waters.
