Tropical Storm Ophelia has intensified slightly but was expected to begin weakening Thursday, according to the National Hurricane Center in Miami.
As of 11 a.m., Ophelia had maximum sustained winds near 65 mph as it moved west at 13 mph about 975 miles east-southeast of the Leeward Islands.
Ophelia is expected to weaken over the next 48 hours with a turn toward the west-northwest expected on Friday.
There were no coastal watches or warnings in effect Thursday.
