Expect one more day of stormy weather before hot, sunny conditions begin to settle into South Florida for the weekend.
A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for east central Broward until 4:30 p.m. The storm will affect Lauderdale Lakes, North Lauderdale and surrounding areas. It is capable of producing hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 mph.
Thursday morning will start off with partly cloudy skies and quickly transition to late-morning and mid-day scattered showers and thunderstorms. Most of the activity will move inland by 3 p.m., leaving us dry late in the afternoon and early evening.
It'll remain partly cloudy and warm Thursday night with temps around 78. Friday will also see isolated showers and thunderstorms and highs around 91.
The pattern will shift this weekend as dry air moves in, settling storm chances and bringing hot sunshine to the pattern for the weekend.
Typical summer storm chances return next week.
