Donna Allen, Former Gloria Estefan Backup Singer, Chosen for The Voice

A South Florida native was chosen by Adam Levine during Monday's blind auditions of The Voice.

A South Florida native has already qualified for the new season of "The Voice."

Donna Allen chose to be in Adam Levine’s team after also being chosen by Christina Aguilera. She is from Hollywood, Fla., the Tampa Tribune reported.

Allen, 54, was one of Gloria Estefan’s backup singers for nine years and is hoping to be the first winner over 40 years old to win the singing competition. According to the Tampa Tribune, she paused her singing career after having children.

During Monday’s show, Allen sung Joe Cocker’s "You Are So Beautiful." When the Florida native picked Levine, she jumped into his arms and had the coaches and audience screaming.

Before the embrace, Levine dropped to the floor and did pushup to celebrate his victory over Aguilera.
