Live Music this Week: June 17 – June 23

 Fri., June 21 – A-Trak at LIV, 11 pm, $40 - $75 

A- Trak is not only credited as the founder of influential label Fool's Gold Records, but is notably known as a member of group Duck Sauce. While this Friday may not feature any of the clips from the Duck Sauce hits including 'Barbara Streisand', his solo sets are nothing to sleep on. DJ A-Trak was once recruited as the personal tour DJ for Kanye West, and has performed at festivals as a solo artists. Catch his set at Miami Beach mainstay this Friday night at LIV, starting at 11 pm.
 
Sat., Jun. 22 – The Package Tour at BB&T Center, 7:30 pm, $29.50 - $93.25
 
Bust out the teeny bopper gear, as nostalgia comes to a climax with the Package Tour hitting the BB&T center. Each generation has a childhood crush to look forward to at the show, which will be featuring three groups from the 80s, 90s, and early 00's. New Kids on the Block, Boyz II Men, and 98 Degrees will be dancing – completely synchronized, of course – into everyones hearts. The show begins at 7:30, and the high pitched screaming to begin shortly after.

Currently on their 2013 Days of Summer Tour, Toronto group Parallels is bringing their distinct synth – pop sound to Miami this weekend. Lead by Holly Dodson, the group creates music that's upbeat and has a nostalgic 80s sense to them. Joining the party will be a guest DJ set from Ess & Emm, along with resident DJs Aramis Lorie and Ray Milian. The Garret at Grand Central will be hosting the party this Saturday, starting at 11 pm, for the bargain price of free.
 
Sun., June 23 – Marisa Monte at the Fillmore Miami Beach, 8 pm, $48.50 - $98.50
 
Brazilian artist Marisa Monte will be gracing the stage in Miami Beach for two nights, starting this Sunday. With over 10 million albums sold worldwide, the singer will is known internationally for her folky music that incorporates modern Brazilian sounds with samba influences. Monte performs in English as well as Portuguese, and represented Brazil at the 2012 Olympic closing ceremonies. Her show begins at 8 pm at the Fillmore Miami Beach.
