Live Music this Week: June 3 – June 9

Wed., June 5 – Big Boi at Revolution Live! 7 pm, $38

Big Boi, half of the hip hop duo Outkast, will be performing this Wednesday in Fort Lauderdale. Big Boi has been earning the respect of the hip hop community and gaining fans not only with Outkast since the mid-90s, but as a solo artist he has appeared on multiple features. With two solo albums released, Big Boi continues to evolve and showcase his skills.
 
Wed., June 5 – Fall Out Boy at Fillmore Miami Beach, 8 pm, $35
While many fans feared the hiatus that Fall Out Boy took a few years ago meant the end of the pop punk group, the release of 'Save Rock and Roll' this year proved otherwise. The members of the group have released solo albums or worked on other projects for roughly two years before reuniting late last year to begin work on their album. The group is currently touring, with their Miami show being hosted at Fillmore Miami Beach on Wednesday night.
 
Fri., June 7 – Sat., June 8 – Jazid 17 year celebration at Jazid, 10 pm
There are few mainstays in the ever changing nightlife landscape of Miami Beach, but Jazid has been one of the places that has consistently attracted locals for years – 17, to be exact. With a laid back attitude and the constant roster of amazing bands, DJs that have graced the stage, it's easy to see why the venue has been on top for so long. This weekend, they celebrate their birthday with a two day party that features Miami groups Jahfe and Suenalo on Friday night, with Spam All Stars and Locos por Juana performing on Saturday.
 
Sat., June 8 – Los Amigos Invisibles at Grand Central, 10 pm, $30
Venezuelan group Los Amigos Invisibles merges Latin sounds with a little bit of disco, a little bit of funk, and a little bit of acid jazz. This combination has lead to a career that has spanned over 20 years, with a slew of albums under their belt, and performances all over the world. The group will be highlighting their career, as well as playing songs off their new album 'Repeat After Me', at their show at Grand Central this Saturday, starting at 10 pm. Opening up the show will be Miami quartet Me VS Murphy.
