Live Music this Week: November 18 – 24

Sat., Nov. 23 – Miami Reggae Festival, 11 am, Peacock Park, $45 - $75, Free before 3 pm with donation.

Part festival, part food drive, and part artisan village, the Miami Reggae Festival will take over Peacock Park this Saturday. The festival will have acts that represent nine different nationalities, with Cultura Profetica, Stephen Ragga Marley, and Tiken Jah Fakoly serving as headliners for the event. Not only will the all day fest feature a roster full of reggae music, but will kick off at 11 am with a yoga class from AEROGA.

Sat., Nov. 23 – Janelle Monae at The Fillmore Miami Beach, 8 pm, $43.50 - $61.50

Suit up - the Electric Lady herself will be performing live at the Fillmore this weekend. Known for her impeccably distinct style and soulful voice, Monae will be bringing her 'psychedelic soul' sound to Miami Beach on Saturday night. Joining her will be fellow artist Roman GianArthur.

Sat., Nov. 23 – Rick Ross, James L. Knight Center, 8 pm, $54 - $87

Ricky Rozay, Teflon Don, The Boss – only some of the names that rapper Rick Ross chooses to go by. The Carol City born rapper has been steadily making moves on the scene since the release of 'Port of Miami' back in 2006. The Mastermind Tour will be hitting the James L. Knight Center this Saturday night, with Ross being joined by 1500 or Nothin'.

Sun., Nov. 24 – Mackelmore and Ryan Lewis, American Airlines Arena, 7:30 pm, $46 - $56

What began as a passion project for an emcee and producer has evolved to a certifiably mainstream duo. Two number one singles, a top ten album, and an arena tour later, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis have solidified their spot in the music scene without the help of a major record label. This Sunday, they take the stage at the American Airlines Arena in Downtown Miami.
