Martini Culture 

Head to the Raleigh hotel on Tuesday, August 27, from 7-9 p.m. for the hotel's weekly Martini Culture night.  Ranked by Details magazine as one of the "Top 10 Bars in the World," The Martini Bar at the Raleigh Hotel reflects the spirit of the golden age of cocktails. With the launch of Restaurant Michael Schwartz, the hotel is rekindling the magic of its storied past on Tuesday nights from 7-9:00 p.m. with Martini Culture. The Martini Bar comes alive with a selection of new martinis and a featured guest bartender each week to serve as host, with snacks from Restaurant Michael Schwartz served a la carte.
 
Baoli Hosts Event for Michael Gongora
 
South Beach meets the French Riviera at  Bâoli, which will host a cocktail event in honor of Michael GĂłngora, Cuban- American mayoral candidate, on Tuesday, August 27t from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Miami Beach Commissioner Michael GĂłngora was first elected to office in 2006.  He is an attorney at law, a community association lawyer and litigator. A lifelong Floridian, GĂłngora was born in Coral Gables to a Cuban father and a mother from Birmingham, Alabama.  The two married young, so GĂłngora’s paternal grandmother cared for him while his parents worked. She taught him Spanish and his grandfather would tell him stories of living in Cuba as a businessman and a city commissioner.  Event attendees will have the opportunity to meet GĂłngora and acquaint themselves with the Miami Beach City Commissioner on a personal level. Makoto @ Pubbelly Dinner Pop-Up 
 
Two-time James Beard Award semifinalist Chef Jose Mendin and Iron Chef competitor Makoto Okuwa of Stephen Starr’s buzzing Japanese restaurant, Makoto, have brought on The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort Executive Pastry Chef Antonio Bachour for their Izakayabelly pop-up Miami Spice dinner at Pubbelly, taking place Tuesday, August 27, from 6pm-midnight.  Mendin and Makoto will offer a traditional Izakaya (Japanese Pub) menu, and Bachour will offer three sweet endings, all for the promotional Miami Spice price of $33 per person. 
 
Mercadito Summer Menu and Taco Tuesdays
 
Favorite Mexican Cantina, Mercadito invites diners to try the summer menu, and to get their fill of tasty tacos with the Taco Tuesday celebration.  Starting at 4pm, guests can receive two tacos for only $5.50, with their choice from an array of tasty combinations including estilo baja (crispy beer-battered mahi mahi, chipotle aioli, Mexican-style coleslaw), carne (rosemary-marinated skirt steak, potato-poblano rajas, avocado-tomatillo crema, crispy manchego), pastor (chile ancho rubbed pork, chile de árbol salsa, grilled pineapple) and more.  This month, Mercadito Midtown's Tacos for Strength tacos offer some Cuban flavor, courtesy of Entertainment & Hospitality Strategist Tony Guerra's–Picadillo Rojo taco– that features red bean paste, Cuban-style Picadillo ground beef, criollo sauce, jalapeños, sweet plantains and a ChicharrĂłn topping for crunch.  The cost of August’s featured taco is $16.50 for an order of four tacos. Five percent of sales generated from Tony Guerra’s taco will be donated to Share Our Strength, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger by 2015.

Live Music at the Flat
