Battledish Competition
 
The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach's Chef De Cuisine, Mexican-born, Andres Meraz is competing in the national Battledish competition this Saturday, Oct. 5 from 2 p.m.-6 p.m. at DiLido Beach Club.  Six Chefs will compete for various titles such as "Tastiest, Most Creative, Best Modern, Most Authentic and Best Cocktail" in conjunction with 60 other chefs competing throughout North America for the title: "King of Battledish." Think of it as trick or treating through a bevy of Miami Beach restaurants where chefs are waiting to treat you with their creations. At check-in, you will receive a map and a menu of the Battledish. It is then up to you to decide for whom to vote.  The competition grounds of Miami Beach are open to the public. Help the Kids and Have a Blast
 
This year's, It’s All About the Kids” cirque-chic themed bash will take place on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 7:30 p.m., at the JW Marriott Marquis in Downtown Miami and will benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. At this party, you'll have the chance to savor an exquisite tasting menu and sip delicious cocktails, donated by Tito’s Handmade vodka, while enjoying special music performances by The Culture Band and DJ Irie.

Fall Fun-Raiser
 
Party, bounce, dunk, drink and feast at the Miami Rail's Fun-Raiser, an "adult" carnival.  The party takes place on Sunday and it's all in the name of art and culture. Miami's leading non profit cultural publication, Miami Rail, is celebrating its one year anniversary with a festival that includes Shorty's BBQ, tequila snowcones, vodka popsicles, a bounce house, a three-legged race, and even a dunk tank! The party will take place at the home of Nina Johnson-Milewski and Daniel Milewski's and goes from 5 - 9 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6.
