"She's an amazing team player, which I never would have expected," said Stephanie Tran, designer of Duskin, last night. "She shared the spotlight with everybody."
Port may have boasted the closing collection of the night, but Tran's signature line was the first to take the runway in front of a full house packed with fashion lovers.
"It felt really good to be the first and get it over with," Tran confessed. "I haven't processed the fact it [Duskin] could potentially be on national television."
Tran, from New York, incorporates clean looks and soft silhouettes into her work. But local designer Romina Heighes incorporated bright colors, stylish bling and a little Miami flare in her collection.
"I take Miami into my inspiration," Heighes said.
And Heighes said she didn't find the crush of reality TV cameras to be a distraction.
"When I'm in the zone, I zone out of everything else." she added.
