South Beach Wine and Food Festival: Top 5 “Can't Miss” Events of 2013

With the South Beach Wine and Food Festival only days away, there are many of you who are now finalizing plans but will find that many of the popular events are already sold out. But you needn’t worry. There are still plenty of exciting events with tickets available that belong on your “can’t miss” list.

From Feb. 21 to 24, renowned culinary talent from all over the world will descend upon beautiful Miami Beach for the yearly event that puts them face-to-face with passionate foodies for the 12th year in a row.

Thursday

Emmy-Award winning television personality and chef Paula Deen is hosting the official kick-off party alongside her sons Jamie and Bobby Deen at the “Moet Hennessy's The Q presented by Omaha Steaks” sponsored by MIAMI magazine on Feb. 21.

This signature event, taking place at the Delano Hotel (1685 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach), is the perfect way to kick-off the festivities. Enjoy chicken, ribs, brisket and pork butts with smoky side dishes from more than 40 of the top BBQ chefs from across the country. These fabulous BBQ dishes will be paired with cocktail creations from the Moët Hennessy portfolio featuring Belvedere Vodka, Hennessy VS Cognac, Grand Marnier Liqueur and 10 Cane Rum.

Friday

If it’s wine that is on your mind then you can’t miss out on the “Fontainebleau Miami Beach presents "Wine Spectator's" Best of the Best. Saturday

For the true Miami experience through the eyes of celebrity chef host of Simply Delicioso, Ingrid Hoffmann, you can’t miss “A Red Hot Night: Presented by Target” on Saturday, Feb. 23. The party will transform The Ritz Carlton (1 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach) into 1950s Cuba with partygoers enjoying themed food and drinks while listening to the rhythms of the Celia Cruz All Stars and the Soulfrito DJ Collective.

Sunday 

Sunday is a great day to spend in Miami with family and friends so why not team up for an afternoon of fun with Andrew Zimmern? The Travel Channel star is hosting the “Diet Pepsi presents Trucks on Midtown’s Tracks” sponsored by Eventstar Structures in Wynwood (Midtown, 3101 NE 1st Avenue, Miami) on Feb. 24, 2013. 

You will find many of your local favorite food trucks with wine and cocktails added to the mix.

If you have to say goodbye to the South Beach Wine and Food Festival, there is no one better than Chef Michelle Bernstein to party with. The “Goya Foods' Swine & Wine presented by Pat LaFrieda Meats” will feature more than a dozen chefs and local Miami friends at the Biltmore Hotel (1200 Anastasia Avenue, Coral Gables), each with his or her own special preparation technique that’s sure to take pig roasting to a whole new level.
