Doug Liman's “Luna” Landing a Go

After kicking around a number of projects, it looks like Doug Liman is ready to get back to work.

Liman will be directing "Luna," a script he developed with John Hamburg ("I Love You, Man"), about a crew of rogue scientists who use a bunch of spare parts to build their own rocket ship and ride it to the moon to steal a precious energy source, reported Variety.

Liman, who is also producing the film, has already met with a few of the usual suspects about playing the lead: Bradley Cooper, Chris Evans and Andrew Garfield, the latter being our default choice--if anybody's asking.

You have to hand it to Liman, he may make a dud now and then, but the guy doesn't get into a rut. Last year's Plame-gate film, "Fair Game," was an understated and overlooked thriller that nobody saw, but it was a nice rebound from "Jumper," which left everybody cold.

While we love the premise of "Luna," we have to say we're still eagerly awaiting movement on his Attica film that he's been working on with Geoffrey Rush. That could be epic.
