Javier Bardem's “Biutiful” Gets a Proper Trailer

A full-length trailer for "Biutiful," the film that earned Javier Bardem Best Actor at Cannes this year, has arrived, leaving us feeling conflicted.

Bardem is pretty clearly giving yet another go-for-broke performance, this time as Uxbal, a down-and-out small time crook with two months to live, that will be remembered come awards season. The footage is gorgeous and the music from guitarist Gustavo Santaolalla is fantastic.

What's bumming us out the grating narration that goes on almost unchecked in an overly dramatic voice reading terrible copy. Frankly, we preferred the 45-second promotional clip that came out a few months ago.

There's still no word on a release date here in the states, but the trailer is a good indication that one will be forthcoming.

If you just can't wait to get your Javier Bardem fix, you can catch him opposite Julia Roberts in Eat Pray Love," which comes out Aug. 13.
