Calm Down, “Jersey Shore” Will NOT Be Recast in Season 3

Reality show fans across America can breathe a sigh of relief, because an Internet report claiming that the entire cast of "Jersey Shore" would be replaced is NOT correct.

But we will see some cast additions by the end of season two for the MTV reality phenomenon.

A web interview with the original "Jersey Shore" casting director added to the casting drama swirling around the show -- especially as it claimed that the third season would feature an "entirely new cast." Three words bigger than Snooki's tremendous hair.

But an MTV source tells PopcornBiz that "this is not correct."

"We started general casting for 'Jersey Shore' Season 2 in case we want to explore the option of bringing on new cast members," the source says.

Indeed, EW.com claims we might start seeing these new faces late into the current season which is filming right now in Miami and premieres July 29. The plan would entail the cast taking a break from tanning/brawling/ab-crunches at the end of May and the newbies coming on when production restarts in July.

So it's a minor shakeup to keep things fresh. But there are still several big questions posed by the unsettling news: the main one  --  will some current cast members will have to go in light of the additions? For that we'll have to wait and see.
