PUPPY POWER: This weekend is going to the dogs—literally. Canines are living the wild life with two different paw-centric events. For Beach-dwelling dogs, Brownes & Co is hosting a doggy fashion show on Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. with haute-doggy couture like collars, leashes and tees from Kane & Couture. Items will be available for purchase after the show until 5 p.m., as will a 15 percent discount on Brownes & Co. products for man’s best friend.
For dogs down south, the Village of Merrick Park’s Doggy Days of Summer series also kicks off on Sunday. Expect a dog parade at 3 p.m., where three winners will be chosen and gifted a bounty of pooch prizes. Plus, the $5 donation to enter the parade benefits the Humane Society of Greater Miami. And speaking of the Humane Society, the event will also feature an Adopt-a-Thon starting at 2 p.m. So bring a four-legged friend or make a new one. And make plans for more fun with Fido, as the dog-related series carries on until August 1. GET IT:Doggy Fashion Show at Brownes & Co., 841 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach; 305.538.8545.
