Christina Hernandez joined NBC 6 in April 2011. You can watch her reporting weekdays at 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. She also fills in at the anchor desk weekend mornings.
Hernandez moved to South Florida from right across the alley in Fort Myers where she worked for WINK News. Before that, she worked in Beaumont, Texas (where she covered her first hurricane) and also worked in New York City.
Hernandez is an award winning journalist who has been recognized for live breaking news coverage by the Society of Professional Journalists and her lead story reporting by the SETX Press Club.
When she's not working, Hernandez enjoys reading, photography, and spending time with her husband and daughter who was born in April of 2012. When she has time, she tries to make it back to her home state of Ohio where the rest of her family is… and where her alma mater is – The Ohio State University.
