When they're not watching the show or taking the stage this Sunday, stars can likely be found relaxing in the Academy Awards' Architectural Digest Greenroom.
This year, the backstage lounge is going retro with a '70s modern vibe envisioned by interior designer Stephen Shadley, who has worked with Oscar favorites, including Woody Allen, Diane Keaton and Robert Altman. It's the seventh year Architectural Digest has sponsored the room.

"I think the idea is just to create a sort of glamorous atmosphere backstage for people," Stephen told Access Hollywood's Shaun Robinson.
His sleek approach will make for a streamlined, comfortable space, the centerpiece of which is a sweeping view of LA from over Mulholland Drive. Among the room's furniture highlights are an 11-foot couch and a vintage brass and lacquered table from 1960.

"It's a place where [stars] can come in and sort of relax before going they go on stage," Stephen said. "And I think a lot of people come back here afterward to kind of chill out after the moment."

But as laid-back as it is, Stephen added that celebs won't be able to let their hair down too much.
"They are not going to get drunk while they are here," he said. "They don't allow alcohol in the green room."
