The "Dancing With the Stars" alum was scheduled to speak at the St. Louis school but cancelled after students protested.

The Student Health Advisory Committee at the St. Louis school approved the 20-year-old single mom’s $20,000 speaking fee for a planned appearance during Student Sexual Responsibility Week.

“We thought she was a good addition to the panel, and a good way to spark interest and reach a good variety of people on campus,” health committee President Scott Elman told the New York Daily News.

But students did not want their activity fee used to pay for talk. The Washington University College Democrats started a Facebook event called “No thanks, Bristol!” that attracted 1,153 supporters at last count.

“It's not that we don't support abstinence as a legitimate approach to sex on campus, but that we're paying an inordinate amount of money on a panel and a speaker that really don't deserve such resources,” the event’s organizers wrote on the social networking site.

The Candie's Foundation spokeswoman got pregnant at 17 and recently bought a five-bedroom home in Arizona where she lives with two-year-old son Tripp.

Palin has been active on the abstinence speaking circuit where she earns between $15,000 and $30,000 for each appearance.
