Fabio, the Italian model who rose to fame bare-chested on the covers of romance novels, crashed a rare Ferrari that didn't
belong to him, TMZ.com reported.
The Saturday afternoon crash happened in Woodland Hills, Calif., on fabled Mulholland Drive, the twisting two-lane road that runs along the spine of the Hollywood Hills and eventually turns into a dirt road in the Calabasas area, according to TMZ.com.
Los Angeles police could not immediately confirm the crash. TMZ reported that Fabio -- full name, Fabio Lanzoni -- was at the wheel of an expensive Ferrari that went off a curve.
Fabio wasn't hurt, but the Ferrari had damage on three sides, according to TMZ, which carried images of the wrecked car.
A representative for World Class Driving, the company that owns the vehicle, acknowledged that Lanzoni wrecked the car, but otherwise had "no comment," TMZ reported.
"We are not very proud of the fact that Fabio wrecked our car," the World Class Driving statement said.
According to the company's Web site, the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorino is worth about $400,000 and has the most powerful V12 engine ever offered in a production car.
