Glam Slam: Celebrity Shape Up Secrets Week — Lose The Last Five Pounds

It's depressing when Heidi Klum can go from being pregnant, back to being, well, Heidi Klum in what seems like five minutes flat.

I am extremely lucky- I lost most of my baby weight pretty quickly. But here I am, almost five months after the birth of my baby girl, and the last five pounds are just not going away no matter what I do and it's getting frustrating!

Enter celebrity trainer Derek DeGrazio who has worked with hot mom Mel B and is the trainer on Lifetime's upcoming "Project Runway" spin-off "Models of the Runway." Derek says looking like Heidi Klum IS a realistic goal for the average woman.

"I think you can. I mean why not shoot for the stars," Derek says. "Granted they have a team behind them. They've done it a little quicker than everyone else, but have that goal in mind."

Derek came up with a workout plan for me combining cardio and exercises that target the abs.

THE V SIT:
This one exercise will help you take losing weight "to the next level." It helps with posture and strengthening the core and lower back, which Derek says gets weak after pregnancy.

Sit down on the floor with your feet straight out in front of you. Lean back until your tailbone reaches the floor. Bring your legs up and bend your knees. Think of a boat pose in yoga and you have the idea. Point your toes and straighten arms. Stick your chest out, chin up and breathe. Hold for 30 seconds and work your way up to 60 seconds. When you get more comfortable with the pose add hand weights (or even use water bottles). Do 3 sets. It looks easy, but it is HARD!

EXERCISE PLAN:
Start out exercising three days a week and work up to four or five days. The trick is to alternate.

Day 1: Low intensity workout. Could be bicycling, a walk or a hike with the baby. Do core exercises. (V Sit)

Day 2: Ten to fifteen minutes of any type of high intensity workout, which could include a sprint, jog or fast cycling for example.

Day 3: Back to low intensity, but change up exercises so that the same muscles don't get overworked. Do core exercises.

DIET TIP:
"Eat often. Eat every three hours. Fruits, veggies, good fats, lean meats."

GLAM SLAM BEAUTY BONUS
While I've been working out my muscles… I've also been working to get my skin back into pre-baby shape. When I was pregnant, I swore by Mama Mio products to avoid stretch marks (which I did!). Now it's all about Mama Mio's "Get Waisted" (lol - love the name!), which is an anti-aging skin tightener that promises to reduce unwanted ab flab for a "less wobbly tummy." Mama Mio also has "Bootcamp for Butts" and "Bootcamp for Boobs" kits, which include a skin care AND exercise program. So clever! All are safe for breastfeeding moms.
