Glam Slam: First Family Fashion For Less!

Typically we send “The Friday Five” out on Fridays, but in honor of our new President taking office, today we continue (and wrap-up) our week-long salute to Obama Style instead… starting with Michelle.

New York company Faviana has created a more affordable version of Michelle’s priceless one-of-a-kind ivory Jason Wu gown, which she wore to the Inaugural Balls. The White House Worthy copy is hand beaded, made of silk chiffon and will retail for $450. It would make a beautiful bridal gown.

Faviana has also created a replica of Michelle’s Isabel Toledo lemongrass colored Swearing-In ensemble. The silk sheath and jacket combo will also sell for $450 and I think it’s perfect for the mother of the bride.

Michelle’s classic style has even inspired the company to launch the First Lady Collection, which will also include her fashion through the years.

Much of the attention has focused on Michelle, of course, but the entire family is one good looking and stylish bunch. Faviana has created more affordable versions of the J.Crew coats the girls wore on Inauguration day. For a really cheap chic tip - you can get the same look for yourself or your kids by adding inexpensive ribbon tied into a bow at the waist paired with a coat you already own. Getting the President’s Inaugural style is easy… no need to pay a lot for a tux when you can get one for less than $200 at Men’s Wearhouse or H&M.
