Glam Slam: Michelle's Midas Touch

Everything Michelle Obama wears turns to retail gold. We saw it with White House Black Market. We saw it with J.Crew. We've seen it with Isabel Toledo and Jason Wu, relatively unknown designers, whom she single-handedly put on the mainstream map.

Can Michelle do it again? Talbots is hoping so. Yes, Talbots - the chain that immediately conjures up images of the conservative and very traditional ladies where I grew up in South Carolina. The All American company, which was founded in 1947 and known for it's timeless classics, is going for a bit of a makeover itself with a new design and marketing team. But the biggest push from frumpy to fabulous could be courtesy of Michelle herself.

The First Lady wore the company's "Rose Print Silk" dress on Sunday for her trip to Moscow. She must really like the $169 floral dress because it was the second time she wore it. (Love that she wears things more than once!)

After she first wore the dress on the May cover of Essence magazine, Talbots sold three thousand of the dresses.

Now that she's donned it again, the chic little number is sure to sell out. Especially since the dress is now on sale for $89.99; a small price to pay to look as presidentially posh as our First Lady. www.talbots.com
