Is Britney's Camp Shutting Down Fan Site?

BreatheHeavy.com, a Web site dedicated to all things Britney Spears, may not be breathing much longer.

The popular Britney fan site announced on Friday that it may be shutting down due to an alleged legal clash with the pop star's father and co-conservator, Jamie Spears.

"I have been battling the conservatorship Britney is currently placed under for months now. When I did not conform to the requests and demands Britney's management and father, Jamie Spears, recently put upon BreatheHeavy to stay quiet, they in turn became angry and malicious, launching, what I feel is an unjust attack, against me and my [Web site]," Jordan Miller, who runs the Web site, wrote in a message to site users on Friday.

Miller also claimed that he had received a threat of legal injunction unless he were to shut down the site by 3 PM on Friday, over copyright infringement laws relating to use of Britney's music and image.

As of Saturday morning, many of the site's pages and content had been removed.

"Britney doesn't control her affairs. You are an uber fan who's gone a little too far," Brad Rose, a Britney lawyer, told the site, Miller claimed.

Miller added that he believes bigger legal issues are involved in the move to shut his site down.

"The real issue, in my opinion, is hidden behind these Copyright Infringement claims, rather (sic) management, particularly her father / conservator, Jamie Spears, who makes $18,000 a month off his daughter, is desperately trying to hide the truth about Britney's imprisonment and shut anyone up who disagrees with their conniving and selfish exploitation of an innocent mother of two pushed back into the lime-light just several months after a hospitalization," Miller wrote on his site.

And additionally, Miller alleged that Jamie Spears told him in a phone conversation, "I will destroy your ass."

In a statement to Access Hollywood on Saturday, Miller discussed the emotions behind the popular Web site.

"I ran BreatheHeavy.com everyday for 5 years because of the love and support I have for Britney and her fans," he told Access. "Fans from all over the world, just like me, follow Britney because she is an inspiration and an icon. I felt BreatheHeavy was a site where fans could unite together and discuss her music, latest whereabouts and tour performances."

"I cannot believe anyone, including Jamie Spears, would want to take that away from her fans," he added.

However, Miller's accusations are at odds with a recent court filing indicated that Britney's mental and physical condition has greatly improved following a hospitalization and a tumultuous period toward the end of 2007, which led to the star's father handling her affairs through her current conservatorship.

A rep for Britney was not immediately available when contacted by Access Hollywood.
