Film lovers everywhere will be hitting South Beach this weekend for the Miami International Film Festival to catch a glimpse of some great work from around the world.
For Shawn Ashmore and Martha Higareda, Friday night is their night to shine.
Their film, Mariachi Gringo, is premiering and it will be the first time they will see it alongside a real audience. Something that they say is pretty nerveracking.
The film is about a young man who hits a wall in his life and decides to follow his dream all the way to Guadalajara to become a Mariachi, and to be premiering it in Miami is huge, said the film's director Tom Gustafson.
“An independent film can’t survive without the support of festivals to create the buzz.. So our goal here is to get the word out there that we are here, and hopefully find our audience,” he said.
