Lady Gaga Launches Her Facebook Rival

Littlemonsters.com open to anyone with an email address, a Facebook account or a Twitter log in

Because being one of the most popular people on Facebook and Twitter was not already enough, Lady Gaga has launched her own social network.

The singer's online home to share "passion and creativity in a community full of art, acceptance, monsters and Gaga" finally went live Tuesday after months in beta.

Littlemonsters.com is open to anyone with an email address, a Facebook account or a Twitter log in.

While the site is meant to connect Lady Gaga fans together, knowing the chorus to "Poker Face" -- or even knowing that is a Lady Gaga song -- is not a requirement to join the social network.

Little Monsters is set up similar to a Facebook fan page with some features resembling online bulletin board site Pinterest.

The site is also a project for Lagy Gaga's own Bay Area-based startup Backplane, which raised about $5 million in a series A round last winter.

The startup is focused on building micro social networks for celebrities.

Just what Justin Timberlake and MySpace needed.
