Report: Susan Boyle's ‘America's Got Talent' Appearance Bumps President Obama

Susan Boyle may not have won "Britain's Got Talent," but the international singing sensation continues to move on an upward swing. And her latest move – giving an interview to the "Today" show's Meredith Vieira for "America's Got Talent"-- even affected President Barack Obama.

The White House was prompted into moving President Obama's latest primetime news conference to 8 PM on Wednesday after NBC expressed reservations about its originally scheduled time of 9 PM, sources told The Hollywood Reporter.

According to the trade magazine, because "America's Got Talent" is the most-watched show on summer TV, NBC was not interested in passing on Piers Morgan, Sharon Osbourne, David Hasselhoff – and this week, a promoted interview with Susan Boyle – for the President.

FOX had reportedly already declined to host the press conference, the President's fourth since taking office.

Instead, the White House will now air the President's address at 8 PM and it will be carried on NBC, CBS and ABC.

ABC will shift game shows "Wipeout" to 9 PM and "I Survived A Japanese Game Show" to 10 PM.

FOX, however, will air "So You Think You Can Dance" at its regular time of 8 PM.
