Reports Of Jon Gosselin's Alleged Affair Spawns War Of Words For ‘Other' Family

While Jon Gosselin – the patriarch of TLC's "Jon & Kate Plus Eight" family – continues to fend off reports of an alleged affair with a 23-year-old woman, the alleged "other" woman now finds herself in her own family battle over the story.

Deanna Hummel, an elementary school teacher in Pennsylvania, has insisted there is nothing romantic between her and 32-year-old Jon.

"We're just friends," Deanna previously told People. "It's absurd that anyone would think otherwise."

However, several people reportedly close to the situation have now confirmed the affair, according to Us Weekly.

One of those people is Jason Hummel – Deanna's brother.

In coming forward, Jason insisted he was trying to protect his "naïve sister."

"She's a nice girl, not a home wrecker," Jason told Us Weekly. "This isn't healthy for her. But she is refusing to help herself, so here I am trying to help her myself."

To support his story, Jason provided photos and video of his sister with a man that appears to be Jon to the magazine. In the video clip, the man is seen leaving the home Deanna and Jason share around 7:30 AM on March 13 – a month before Jon and Deanna were photographed together leaving a bar in Redding, Penn.

Jason claims Jon has visited their home on several occasions.

"[They] pretty much stay locked away like two teenagers," Jason said of Jon's alleged visits. "It was weird. He's a grown man."

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Jon has admitted to being seen out at a local bar with Deanna – a decision he said "showed poor judgment."

"Like most people, I have male and female friends and I'm not going to end my friendships just because I'm on TV," Jon said in a statement to Access Hollywood. "However, being out with them late at night showed poor judgment on my part."

But Deanna insists her brother — with whom she says she has a strained relationship — — is adding fuel to the fire for his own personal gain.

"My brother is making this all up… He has no credibility… I can't even stomach the lies he's saying about me," Deanna said in a new interview with People. "My brother is very shady. He has no job. He has a criminal background. He was charged for drug distribution. He's on probation right now."

In addition, Deanna insists her brother has put her teaching career in jeopardy.

"I can't take my kids to recess without worrying that people will come up and harass me and the other teachers. It's not fair," she added.

Jon has also spoken out following Jason's claims.

"These allegations are false and just plain hurtful. As I adjust to the attention that comes from being in the public eye, I need to be more careful and aware of who I am associating with and where I am spending my time," Jon said in a new statement to Access. "But the bottom line is, I did not cheat on Kate."

A source close to the Hummel family told Access the war of words has put further strain on Deanna and Jason's relationship and the two are currently "not speaking at all."

But despite the he said/she said, Jon said his focus is squarely on his wife and eight children.

"I am sorry for putting my family in this awkward position, given some poor decisions and bad judgments I've made recently," his statement continued. "I am working through this difficult time with my family. My family is my top priority."

And through all the back and forth, what does Jon's wife, Kate, have to say about all the rumors and reports?

"It's disturbing and unfortunate that these tabloids have gone as far as they have to try and bring us down," Kate told Entertainment Weekly. "Jon's poor judgment and irresponsible behavior has also without a doubt caused some added tension and stress between the two of us."

The fifth season of "Jon & Kate Plus Eight" is slated to debut May 25 on TLC.
