Help Wanted: Smashing Pumpkins Seek Drummer

The Smashing Pumpkins are giving fans a chance to finally live out their Siamese Dream and join the band.

Last month, front-man Billy Corgan announced that drummer Jimmy Chamberlin had left the alt-rock band.

"Chamberlin joined the band Corgan founded in Chicago in 1988 and played on all their albums except Adore (1998)" according to the band's website. "Corgan will continue to write and record as Smashing Pumpkins with plans to head into the studio this spring,"

On Tuesday, the band announced that auditions for recording and touring drummers would be held in Los Angeles on April 10.

Not 100 percent sure you have the chops to play with the Pumpkins? No need to worry.

"When Jimmy originally auditioned for The Smashing Pumpkins, he was playing in a locally touring jazz band that was playing weddings and street fairs. It just goes to show that you never know where the next big talent will come from," according to smashingpumpkins.com.

Within the first 48 hours, more than 600 drummers applied.
