Speidi Get Scolded

Reality couple take heat for their antics on "Today" and "The View"

Get them out of here.

Heidi and Spencer Pratt were forced to answer for their obnoxious antics on “I’m a Celebrity …Get Me Out of Here!” as first NBC weatherman Al Roker then the ladies of The View blasted the reality couple on separate networks Monday.

Roker kicked off his “Today” show interview with the couple by playing a montage of “I’m a Celebrity” clips that included Spencer knocking a water bottle out of another contestant’s hand and Heidi talking herself up as the next Mother Teresa.

“There are those who say that you guys are the poster children for everything that is wrong with celebrity in this country,” he said out of the gate. “When you look at this stuff, do you have any regrets about doing what you do?”

Spencer said he did not. On the show he played a “villain” because he thought that would help him win, he said. In “real life” he thought of himself as a “hero.”

“You say villain some people say jerk,” Roker answered.

The Pratts, who became famous on MTV's "The Hills," quit "I'm a Celebrity" last week when Heidi was sent to the hospital with a stomach ailment. That was after threatening to leave the show two other times. Heidi's sister Holly Montag took her place and has been embraced by the show's other B-list celebrities who earlier complained about the Pratt's diva-ish behavior.

Roker asked Heidi if she was “proud” of the way she handled herself on the show.

“It was a very hard situation. I think when you go in the jungle…” she said.

“Are you proud?” Roker asked, cutting her off.

“I mean I’m not ashamed,” she said.

Roker repeated the question once again.

After the interview Speidi called into Ryan Seacrest’s radio show to complain about her treatment.

"I was shocked at how rude he was. I was crying afterwards because I couldn't believe I felt personally attacked," Heidi told Seacrest.

Spencer said he hardly knew who Roker was.

"I thought we were getting interviewed by Matt Lauer or something," he said. "Next thing you know, I've got the guy that tells me if it's rainy or sunny trying to ask me questions.”

The pair later followed up with Us magazine where Heidi had a message for Roker.

"I forgive you, you don't even have to ask me, I already forgive you," she said. "It's ok. The devil gets into all of us sometimes. You're forgiven. It'll be a sunny day tomorrow, weatherman!"

But the Speidi criticism didn’t stop there.

The couple also appeared on ABC’s The View on Monday, where co-host Joy Behar asked Heidi to reconcile her outspoken Christian evangelism with the decision to pose nude in an upcoming Playboy issue.

“Do you think Mother Teresa would have done that?” Behar asked.

“I’m more of a modern version,” Heidi said. “But it’s a reputable magazine. Many people have done it.”

The “Hills” couple got their sternest advice from co-host Whoopi Goldberg after Spencer admitted that he didn’t read his contract before appearing on “I’m a Celebrity.”

“As much business as you guys have done, you with the hairspray and the cleaning stuff and everything that you’re doing, you better get yourself together or you’re gonna be in the street,” Whoopi said.

“You’re gonna have to take responsibility. You’re too old now. See, last year was cute. Now, you’re adults.”
