With help from Tariq of The Roots, Williams and Fallon explained Obama's executive action to an R&B beat.

Brian Williams and Jimmy Fallon tackled President Barack Obama’s executive action on immigration by “Slow Jamming” the news on Tuesday night’s episode of “The Tonight Show.”

Announced two weeks ago, Obama’s broad executive action allows as many as five million undocumented immigrants to stay in the U.S., including the undocumented parents of children born in the country.

With help from Tariq of The Roots, Williams and Fallon explained the news to an R&B beat.

The “Nightly News" anchor said Obama’s plan provides “a path to citizenship for those who meet certain criteria, thus giving immigrants a new way to enter our country.”

“Aw yeah, President Obama is taking a hard stance on immigration,” Fallon said in a low voice. "You can't go through the back door."

Williams is also celebrating his 10th anniversary as the "Nightly News” anchor.
