Charlie Sheen Talks Life After HIV-Status on ‘Today'

Sheen talked about his life since revealing his HIV-positive status on Today seven months ago, describing the admission as feeling "like being released from prison"

Actor Charlie Sheen talked about his life since revealing his HIV-positive status on Today seven months ago, describing the admission as feeling "like being released from prison."

The actor said he decided to reveal his HIV status to end what he called extortion efforts by his former girlfriends. Though he said these efforts have begun to subside, he said his public revelation initially made things worse.

He described the lawsuits by women who claim he did not reveal his HIV as having no merit. Sheen claimed he had not infected anyone and that he always used protection.  However, he did admit to not informing some partners of his status after learning his diagnosis.

"I regret not using a condom the one or two times when this whole thing happened. I regret ruining 'Two and a Half Men.' I regret not being more involved in my children's lives growing up, which I am now. That's about it," he said. "We can only move forward from today."

Since revealing his status as HIV-positive, the actor has released an emoji app on iTunes and is currently the face of a new condom brand.
