DeGeneres Does Mannequin Challenge After Being Initially Blocked From White House Award Ceremony

DeGeneres also talked her fellow award recipients into doing the mannequin challenge once she made it into the White House

Just being selected to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom is supposed to be the hard part... not actually picking up the award.

Not so if you forget to bring your ID to the White House. Just ask Ellen DeGeneres.

DeGeneres, perhaps one of the more recognizable celebrities in the country, found herself waiting at the front gate after forgetting to bring a photo ID.

"They haven't let me in to the White House yet because I forgot my ID. #NotJoking#PresidentialMedalOfFreedom" DeGeneres captioned the photo.

DeGeneres did ultimately make her way inside, and somehow managed to talk several of her co-recipients, including Tom Hanks, Bill Gates, Robert De Niro and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, into doing the mannequin challenge.

The talk show star was selected to receive the medal, the country's highest civilian honor, along with a host of celebrities and luminaries including Robert De Niro, Michael Jordan, Bill and Melinda Gates, Tom Hanks, Robert Redford, Bruce Springsteen and Lorne Michaels.
