‘Grimm' Comic-Con Panel Offers Cryptic Clues to Season 5

After a season four cliffhanger, fans attending Saturday's Comic Con panel of “Grimm” were offered only clues to the hit NBC show’s direction in the upcoming season.

The season finale ended with main character Nick’s girlfriend being killed by Trubel (Jacqueline Toboni) in order to save him.

The stars and producers were mum as to the exact plotline viewers could expect in season five, only offering hints.

“We’re finally going to explain the damn key,” executive producer David Greenwalt said, referring to the keys that belonged to the seven knights who were ancestors to the Grimms.

The series, which will return with new episodes in October, follows the life of homicide detective Nick Burkhardt, a “Grimm” charged with protecting mankind from supernatural creatures.

Offering another clue was David Giuntoli, the actor who plays the lead role of Nick. He said his character would focus on being a dad, but must go through the challenge of losing “something.”

He would not elaborate on what he loses in the first episode.

And then there’s the plotline of Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner). The couple got married at the end of season 3 and, as Turner told the audience of thousands: “Fans want more of us.”

Could Rosalee be expecting a baby? That’s what one fan asked during the Q&A portion of the panel.

“Perhaps” is all Turner would divulge.

She added that cast members aren’t filled in on the long-term plans of the storyline, only finding out episode to episode.

“You can’t have too many babies on a show like this,” Greenwalt interjected, dampening some fans’ hope.

Greenwald added the show will be going back to its mythology roots of season one.

“We’re going to do the Loch Ness monster coming up,” he said, eliciting cheers.

Season five of "Grimm" will premiere Oct. 30 on NBC.
