Hillary Clinton Visits Kerry Washington on Set of ‘Scandal'

Kerry Washington, Scott Foley and more shared snaps with the presidential candidate.

Hillary Clinton has a very powerful friend in her corner: Olivia Pope. Political worlds – fake and real – collided when the Democratic presidential candidate stopped by the set of "Scandal" Monday in California, delighting stars Kerry Washington, Darby Stanchfield, Scott Foley and Tony Goldwyn. Clinton happened to stop by on a day when Foley was behind the camera.

"So, this happened while I was directing tonight. No big deal.#imwithher," Foley shared on Instagram along with the below selfie. [[369832171,C]]

Goldwyn, who plays President Fitzgerald Grant on the series, praised the former secretary of state. "Thanks @HillaryClinton for visiting our alternate universe tonight! You are the ultimate #Gladiator !!! #ImWithHer," he tweeted.

Washington shared two photos, including one with this caption: "A good friend came by set today. Proud to say... #imwithher" [[369832101,C]]

"Scandal" is taking a page from real life by having Mellie Grant (Bellamy Young), the former first lady and current senator, run for president. Olivia Pope is helping with her campaign. Yes, the same Olivia Pope who had an ongoing affair with Mellie's husband. You know, TV politics. Young didn't share anything on Clinton's visit – yet.

"Wow! Look who stopped by the set of #Scandal tonight," Stanchfield tweeted. [[369834101,C]]

Request for comment from ABC about Clinton's visit was not immediately returned.

The "Scandal" set is just the latest Hollywood pit stop Clinton has made on her campaign. She recently filmed a cameo on Comedy Central's "Broad City" with stars Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson.

"Scandal" airs Thursdays, 9 p.m. on ABC.
