Jimmy Fallon, The Roots and the ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Cast Join Forces to Sing a ‘Star Wars' Medley Together

Ready for "Star Wars: The Musical"?

Don't worry, that's not an official movie (that we know of, anyway). But on Tuesday, Jimmy Fallon and The Roots sang an a capella medley of "Star Wars" songs with multiple members of the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" cast, including John Boyega, Gwendoline Christie, Adam Driver, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o and Daisy Ridley. C-3PO, R2-D2 and a few stormtroopers even performed as part of "The Tonight Show's" musical moment.

Together, they recreated the songs made famous by composer John Williams. As has been the case with the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" promo, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) was M.I.A.

Williams returned to score "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," and Gustavo Dudamel, music director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, conducted the opening and end titles music. "I remember thinking, 'He's joking,'" Dudamel said in a statement released to the Los Angeles Times Monday. "John has such a wonderful sense of humor, and I somehow thought that there must be a catch. It turns out there was: I couldn't tell anyone!" Earlier this month, director J.J. Abrams revealed that Hamilton's Lin Manuel Miranda also composed a new song for the film.

Abrams told Fallon that the seventh movie in the series pays tribute to 1977's "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope." "Basically, we have a scene that's sort of our version of the cantina scene. John Williams, the master composer, said, 'J.J., baby, I'd rather not write the music for that scene because I'd rather write the score,'" he said. "I end up e-mailing Lin-Manuel Miranda and I say, 'I know you were kidding but if you actually want to write this music, I'm actually working on something if you want.' He's like, 'I'll drop everything!' I'm like, 'All right!'"

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is in theaters Friday.

"The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" airs weeknights at 11:35.
