She was bound, gagged and robbed at gunpoint but one company doesn’t think it’s too soon to make a Halloween costume based on Kim Kardashian West’s harrowing experience.
The "Parisian Heist Robbery Victim Costume," doesn't explicitly name Kardashian in its product description, likely for legal reasons. But Costumeish makes little effort to conceal the true identity of the costume's inspiration.
"She has devoted her life to promoting American decadence, youth, and hedonism. But all that flashy living caught up with her one night in Paris when armed men bound her, stole her jewelry and her peace of mind," the costume's description reads. "This Halloween have some fun with pop culture and dress just like the Queen of social media with our sensational 'Parisian Heist Robbery Victim Costume.'"
For the price of $69.99 you get an outfit complete with "White short sexy robe, long black wig, fake $4 million dollar ring, large sunglasses, fake gag and 2 feet of rope."
The joke is sure to be lost on members of the Kardashian family. Kim has been silent on social media since the robbery. Kardashian's sister Khloe, scheduled to appear on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" Tuesday, says the robbery has taken a toll on her sister.
"I mean, she’s not doing that well. It’s incredibly traumatic what happened to her, but our family is super close and great and we’ll get through it together and we do appreciate all of your guys’ love and support and it will take time," Kardashian tells DeGeneres. "You know it was horrible what happened to her."
The reaction on social media has been brutal. While few found humor with the costume, most others described it as "trashy," "disgusting" and "deplorable."
"A Kim Kardashian robbery costume? OK, how disgusting can people get," wrote Twitter user @ninapanessa.
Costumeish founder and vice president Johnathon Weeks defended the costume in an interview with Time.
"It’ll make people either cringe or laugh," Weeks said. "We’re not mocking her. Halloween references pop culture and celebrities are no different. That’s Halloween."

Week's costume company is no stranger to controversy. It's the same company that came under fire last year for a "Bruce Gender" costume, which depicted a male and female version of Caitlyn Jenner, Kardashian West's stepparent.
