'I Got Into My Car and I Cried': Lena Headey Recounts Harrowing Encounter With Harvey Weinstein

The 'Game of Thrones' star says she was forced to rebuff Weinstein's advances as he tried to lure her to his hotel room

"Game of Thrones" star Lena Headey has taken to social media to reveal her own harrowing encounter with Harvey Weinstein.

In what is now becoming an all-too-familiar refrain, she says the former movie mogul made inappropriate advances while trying to escort her to his hotel room.

Weinstein was fired last week by the film production company he helped create. The allegations of sexual harassment and assault against Weinstein — which he has denied — span decades and include many of the film industry's leading actresses.

On Tuesday, a knowledgeable source confirmed with NBC News that Weinstein resigned from the board of his compnay.

Earlier in the week it was revealed the compnay may be putting itself up for sale and that it would receive an immediate cash infusion from Colony Capital while it's in negotiations for the potential sale of all or a significant portion of the company.

Colony Capital, the private-equity arm of Colony NorthStar, was founded by Thomas Barrack, a close adviser to President Donald Trump. Barrack chaired Trump's presidential inaugural committee.
