Sandra Bullock Tears Up Saying Goodbye to Jay Leno on His Penultimate “Tonight Show” Appearance

Sandra Bullock got emotional while saying goodbye to Jay Leno during in the late-night host's penultimate "Tonight Show" episode on Wednesday, Feb. 5. The actress, who made her 20th appearance on the talk show, thanked the outgoing comedian for being so kind to her over the years.

"I'd like to say something. I'm going to start crying," Bullock said, tearing up. "You've always been so kind. That's saying a lot in this business because we like to be mean. There's not been one time that you haven't treated me like I had something to offer. Even when the film was horrible and you knew it, you never let me see it in your eyes. When I made crazy life decisions you never questioned [them]. You were always so welcoming and every single person on your crew was that way consistently and I just felt special even when I felt very insecure. And everyone, I think, in this room and in this country, has felt that every day that you've been in their homes. I'm so grateful that I got to be a part of this."

Leno, 63, had equally sweet things to say about the Oscar-winning movie star. "When I saw you in "Wrestling Ernest Hemingway," I looked at you the way I looked at my wife for the first time. You just popped and I went, 'Oh, my God. This person's gotta be a big star,'" he said. "And it all came true."

The interview had its funny moments, too. "You haven't changed, but your hair has changed," Leno said. "Oh, crap!" Bullock laughed before her longtime friend showed the audience a beauty montage. See the clip below.

"That wasn't mean," Leno told Bullock, who agreed with him. "You looked beautiful in all of those."
