Sofia Vergara and Reese Witherspoon were in South Florida recently, talking about their new film "Hot Pursuit." While this paradise is no stranger to Sofia, Reese got a true taste of South Florida. "I love it here because I have access to a lot of Colombian restaurants, which I don't have in Los Angeles," said Sofia, "I brought Cuban coffee to Reese this morning." "She brought me Cuban coffee," acknowledged Reese. They then took to social media to post the cafecito break. The picture got over 70,000 likes on Instagram!
The dynamic duo shared an awkward on camera kiss, and they say it was kind of fun to shoot. "It was very exciting for her," said Witherspoon. Vergara responded with, "It was fantastic. I wanted to do that for a long time. I knew that making out with an Oscar winner was going to bring my Hollywood stature - I needed it." But the fun didn't stop there -- Witherspoon said she had no idea Vergara was going to pull her hair, while Vergara got a handful while grabbing Witherspoon's backside.
Vergara says it wasn't all fun and games on set, saying she struggled as a Latina actress. "There's not as many opportunities like for example for her. Her accent is perfect, she looks the way she looks. There's more roles for American girls than Latin girls. It's a challenge because there's not as much material. I think it's gotten a lot better than years ago, so we shouldn't be complaining. IT's now in the minds of the producers and the writers." Witherspoon chimed in with, "I think it's good when someone like Sofia is in a movie like this. People go see the movie, the studios understand there's an audience for that in films and it's a huge audience."
But for now, Vergara is just one of the many powerhouse Latinas taking over Hollywood. Hot Pursuit hits theaters May 8th.
