“Black Swan” Involved in Production Credit Lawsuit

The production team behind the mind-bending psychological thriller Black Swan seems to be having an identity crisis of its own.

Overnight L.L.C. has sued its former president, Aaron Kaufman, for $10 million claiming that his "gross lapses in judgment" led the production company to lose millions of dollars in revenue and a proudction credit for the Natalie Portman film, reports the New York Times.

In the lawsuit, Overnight contends that Kaufman misrepresented his abilites and experience while "pretending to be knowledgable about the financing of movies when he was not." Overnight, which is headed by Rick Schwartz,  gained an executive production for Black Swan for Mr. Schwartz, who also helped produce Machete, Gangs of New York and The Aviator.

Kaufman has countered that the claims are baseless and that it was only after he joined Overnight that Schwartz was able to gain producer credits on Black Swan and Machete.
