The Rock Snaps Up Mansion in Broward

Dwayne Johnson bought a 13,000-square-foot home Feb. 27: Sun Sentinel

The Rock has a new home in Broward County.

Movie star and pro wrestler Dwayne Johnson bought a 13,000-square-foot mansion in Southwest Ranches from Miami Dolphin Vernon Carey for $3.45 million on Feb. 27, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

The property owner of the six-bedroom house in Landmark Ranch Estates is technically the Hand Over Hand Land Trust, whose trustee signed for a $2 million mortgage on behalf of Johnson, 39, according to the newspaper.

The single-story palatial pad features “a splendid circular driveway bejeweled with a stunning fountain leading to the grand entrance,” as the real estate listing describes it, as well as a chef’s kitchen, “resort-style pool,” gym, and home theater replete with a ticket booth.

Johnson, a University of Miami alum, most recently headlined last month’s “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.”

Carey, 30, who grew up in Liberty City and also graduated from UM, is an offensive lineman who has spent his eight-year pro career with the Dolphins. A free agent, he is not expected to return to the team, according to the Sun Sentinel.
