While on tour with her band, The Pretty Reckless, in Glasgow, Scotland, Taylor tried to fire up the audience, by announcing, "We are The Pretty Reckless and we have heard that Glasgow is the craziest crowd in all of England!"
Just one problem – Glasgow is in Scotland.
Unfortunately for the "Gossip Girl" star, the flub did not go unnoticed by the audience.
"People began to cheer as they presumed she was going to say Scotland, but when the penny dropped all you could hear was boos," concert-goer Paul Krane told The Daily Record. "It was right at the start of the gig and it took the shine off it. I was really looking forward to it, but after Taylor said that it just left a bad taste. She didn't even apologize."
Taylor and the band went on to finish their set without addressing the gaffe (presumably unaware of the mistake). However, the actress/singer later took to her Twitter page to apologize.
"Glasgow, I love you, I now HAVE to tour SCOTLAND (haha, sorry bout the slip up!)" she Tweeted after the show.
However, her apology might have been too little, too late for the local fans.
"You could tell people were really offended. The crowd just seemed flat from then on," concert-goer Stuart Neilson told The Daily Record. "There really isn't any excuse. Surely someone backstage could have said something to her… I think she needs to go back to school for geography lessons."
