1/24: Hair For Haiti

Fabulous events for a fabulous cause

HAIR FOR HAITI: It's nice to see a local Miami Beach celebrity do something other than get themselves in tabloids. Dee Adams is a celebrity hairstylist, season 2 winner of Bravo hit "Shear Genius," and owner of Dee & Co. on South Beach. Today she will be hosting a Cut-A-Thon fundraiser to benefit UNICEF's relief efforts for the children of Haiti. All her fabulous hair stylists, massage therapists, manicurists and pedicurists will be offering their services at 50 percent off and all proceeds will benefit UNICEF. So not only will you be getting your feet rubbed and your hair done, but you will be doing a lot of good, too.

ROCK AND BENEFIT: We as a community have come together like never before to help our "neighbors" in Haiti.  With all that has been said and seen, it can be easily forgotten that the earthquake happened just last week. The South Florida music community is doing something big, and they want all of us to be a part of it. The two-day benefit at the Tina Hill Pavilion at Bayfront Park called "Haiti Mizik Relief" ends today and it isn't a show to miss. The lineup includes legendary Haitian big band The Dixie Band, Tuco Bouzi, Afrobeta and many more. Admission is your donation to the American Red Cross. So come out, enjoy great music and help raise the much needed relief funds for our brothers and sisters just a few miles away.

LIVE HAITI: After a long day of helping Haiti or perhaps your pockets are short of funds due to donating, than head over to the Biltmore Hotel today.  Every Sunday from 2 - 6 PM, they have live music by Jean-Michael Daudier, who is one of the best entertainers to come out of Haiti.  So not only can you hear one of the most known and loved entertainers from our neighbor Haiti, it's half price on all cane drinks and specialty mojitos.  Even better, this event is free. 2 PM.
