8/25: Ain't No Shame in That Backgammon Game

SoBe plays games and jazz, while the Design District helps Tuesday go down easier

GAME ON: Backgammon. It's like Dominos for academic types. But just because the playing pieces aren't shoes and race cars doesn't mean you need a degree in math to play. In fact, wine bar Eno's thinks you can do it while intoxicated. Then again, doesn't alcohol make anything seem easier than it really is? Liquid courage, people. 7 P.M.

LOUNGE LIZARD: In the land of salsa and reggaeton, one music genre (okay, lots of music genres) goes virtually unsung. Jazz. But, for those who crave the sounds strings, horns and the occasional reed instrument while snuggled in a smoky haze on a red velvet couch, or something, head to the Van Dyke, where the Gecko Jazz Project will be playing tonight. 9 P.M.-1 A.M.

LYON'S SHARE: What do we love more than Italian food? Free Italian food  in the company of cheap cocktails, of course. Fratelli Lyon agrees, as Monday through Friday they hose Apertivo in Milano, during which the resto offers free antipasto with $5 cocktails from 5-6 p.m., $6 from 6-7 p.m. and $7 from 7-8 p.m.
