8/29: Saturdays Were Made for Tutus

See prima ballerinas, meet Jamie Foxx, and listen to a Cabaret

TOE JAM: Some say ballet is a dying art. Well, Ballet Etudes Company of South Florida is keeping it alive by returning to the Miramar Cultural Center and Arts Park for another great evening of classical ballet. Grand Ballet Gala will feature Ballet Etudes principal dancers and guest artists, performing classics such as "Les Sylphides" and "Coppelia Act III." Ballet Etudes will also perform some of its original repertoire, such as "Autumn" from Verdi's "The Seasons" and a new work entitled "PrimaDonna," starring world-renowned ballerina, Dagmar Moradillos. 7:30 P.M.

SLY LIKE A FOXX: Feel like meeting someone famous? How about Academy Award-winning actor and musician Jamie Foxx? Foxx will be rockin' the crowd at the BankAtlantic Center, continuing his Blame It tour and crooning his hit singles "Blame it" and "Just Like Me," along with special guests T-Pain, T.I., and Li'l Wayne. How's that for a celebrity encounter? 8 P.M.

LIFE'S A CABARET: Yearning for the good ol' days of Liza Minelli and fishnet tights? Then come to The Deering Estate's Summer Cabaret Concert Series, where you can stay cool this summer and enjoy an intimate, cabaret-style concert that features eclectic and world music artists in the historic Stone House Ballroom. Single tickets are $20, while the three-concert series price is $55. 8 P.M.
