Artists Get WAMMed in Miami

The second Saturday of each month, everyone in Miami who likes art or free, cheap wine gathers and fills the streets of Wynwood and the Design District. If you can stand the crazed crowds, you’ll find some snoozy stuff and also some impressive work mostly by local artists.

After the walk, we would suggest you rehydrate, regroup and then head over to P.S. 14 for more drinks and culture. The night is called W.A.M.M. for Where Artists Meet Monthly, and there’s going to be something for both the visual and audio learners.

Gregory de la Haba, down from New York to show at the World Erotic Art Museum (dirty...), is the featured artist, Benjamin Shahoulian is the featured poet, and J.J. Colagrande will be signing his new novel HEADZ.

HEADZ is about a group of strangers, separately on pilgrimage to a concert. The rag tag group eventually ends up meeting each other and a bunch of theatrics ensue. Worth picking up. Everyone loves concert drama, anyway. Buy a copy and, hey the author’s a nice, chatty guy. You might make a lit buddy.

Films from the Borscht Film Festival will be showing (thecccv.com), and two of Miami’s favorite DJs will be spinning, DJ Hottpants and Sweat Records’ own Lolo.

The event takes place on Saturday. Doors open 8 p.m. at PS14, 28 NE 14 Street, Miami.
