So as we get ready for the premiere of "Real Housewives Of Miami" tonight, Bravo’s Andy Cohen said this was a long time coming.

“We were shooting a bunch of women in Miami and we just wanted to see where the story went. And we watched and thought—yep, this is Real Housewives. Let's give the people what they want. People have been asking for them for so long. So here it is.”

Cohen, who was in town for a red carpet premiere last night at the Eden Roc on Miami Beach, says while the show does heat up, don’t expect too much too soon.

“It's never really dramatic in the first episode. It’s a six episode series, so it’s a short run. Stuff happens in everyone’s personal life and its drama--it’s a six week affair. They are cooking together, fighting—it's great. People are going to love it.”

And with Miami making it Bravo’s seventh franchise, the Executive Vice President admits he never saw the success in this show.

“When we did the first season of Real Housewives, my boss said, 'Lets call it Real Housewives Of Orange County.' And I was like, 'Why would we do that?' And she told me just in case we do it another city. I remember thinking that we would never do it in another city. Guess I was wrong.“
