Brother of Coral Springs Gymnastics School Owner Accused of Molesting Girls

Leonardo Antonio Suarez Alvarez was arrested Wednesday on five counts of lewd and lascivious molestation

The brother of the owner of a gymnastics school in Coral Springs is accused of molesting multiple young girls at the gym.

Leonardo Antonio Suarez Alvarez, the brother of the owner of Twins Gymnastics at 1297 N. University Drive, was arrested Wednesday on five counts of lewd and lascivious molestation, according to an arrest report.

Police said Suarez Alvarez, 52, was a volunteer at the gym where he's accused of inappropriately touching at least five girls between the ages of 7 and 10 dating back as far as two years ago.

The 7-year-old told police Suarez Alvarez had touched her as recently as Tuesday, while she was doing homework at the gym, the report said. One 9-year-old girl said Suarez Alvarez had touched her on five occasions over the summer, the report said.

A 10-year-old girl said she told the gym's owner about the inappropriate touching and was told by the owner that she would tell Suarez Alvarez to stop but he didn't, the report said.

NBC 6 went to the gym to seek comment Thursday but no one wanted to speak.

Suarez Alvarez was being held without bond Thursday, jail records showed. Attorney information wasn't available.
