Christian Audigier: Tacky Clothes Even Tackier Car

In addition to having Ed Hardy slashed across all his apparel, the French designer is now lending his “design skills” to automobiles. It’s all just a day in the life and ride of Christian Audigier.

If you think Christian Audigier’s clothes are ugly, you should check out his car. Spotted coming out of La Piaggia Beach Club in Miami Beach recently, Audigier—oddly enough not wearing his own garish Ed Hardy garb—slipped into a monstrous bluish-periwinkle ride.

Turns out, the car is a custom-made (only he could bring this level of tacky to cars) Cadillac Escalade. According to dubdaily.com, the car is a “super luxury SUV” that’s been redesigned from wheels to roof to suit this Frenchie’s infamous style. He’s even given the car it’s own name: the Audigier VIF1, but we’re just going to refer to it as the “ugly-mobile.”

Sprawled across the back of the car is Audigier’s name in 24-carat gold-plated letters. How subtle. While we didn’t get to see the inside of the vehicular monstrosity, we hear it’s pimped out with captain seats complete with leg chaises, embossed leather and metallic silk-screened logos (in case he forgets its his car, we suppose), DVD players, Playstations, iPods, mini Macs, TVs—basically a roving Circuit City, if they were staying in business.

Wait, it gets worse. According to allheadlinesnew.com, Audigier, who opened an Ed Hardy in Miami Beach last year, recently tried his hand at car design for the masses. His first project was demoralizing designing the Lamborghini Murciélago LP640, which he renamed the Audigier LP71. There’s only a whopping five of the scull- and rose-adorned car. Smart move, Lamborghini.

The next time you’re riding around town and you see a car that looks a blinged-out blue elephant, you’ll know exactly who’s inside. Just don’t stand too close. He might try to emboss you, too.
