Chopper 6 was over the scene on Florida’s Turnpike northbound near the off ramp to I-75, where the trailer could be seen next to a badly damaged SUV after the crash around 11 a.m. A Miami-Dade Police helicopter landed in the lanes to take one person from a waiting ambulance to an area hospital.
Officials have not released any information on the victims involved or what caused the crash. One northbound lane of the Turnpike reopened around 12:15 p.m. while the off ramp remains closed at this time.
